1. AI as an enabler, not a replacement |
As the regulatory landscape becomes more complex and data-heavy, QHSE professionals are looking for smarter tools to manage their responsibilities. During a recent webinar, Malaika Yaro, Product Manager at Bizzmine, shed light on how AI is transforming QHSE processes. Not by replacing professionals, but by enabling them to focus on what truly matters.
AI as an enabler, not a replacement
Malaika opened the session by addressing a common concern: job displacement. At Bizzmine, AI is positioned not as a substitute for human expertise but as an assistant that automates repetitive, time-consuming tasks. Think of it as a co-pilot: there to support your judgement, not override it.
“Let AI handle the dull stuff. Use that saved time and energy for the complex, strategic parts of your job.” - Malaika Yaro
Where AI adds the most value in QHSE
Our platforms offers a wide range of standard QHSE solutions—from document control and risk management to accident reporting and hazardous substance tracking. According to Malaika, all of these processes can benefit from AI. The webinar explored several key use cases:
1. AI-Powered Document Summarization
Navigating long SOPs or procedures can be draining. Bizzmine’s AI reads documents and generates clear, user-friendly summaries, perfect for onboarding, audits, or quick refreshers. The feature is accessible via a customisable AI button on the form interface.
2. Smart Document Search with Co-Pilot
The built-in AI co-pilot functions like an internal ChatGPT trained on your validated documents. It respects user access permissions and always references its sources, helping teams retrieve information efficiently and in multiple languages.
3. AI-generated Training Exams
Need to evaluate staff on specific documents? AI can draft exam questions linked to a document or procedure, saving time and ensuring alignment between content and assessment.
4. Root Cause Analysis Automation
For incidents, complaints, or change controls, Bizzmine offers AI-generated 5-Why or 6M analyses. The output format is fully customisable, whether in bullet points, tables, or with emojis for visual clarity.
5. Risk Analysis Proposals
In change management scenarios, AI can generate a structured risk assessment—suggesting overlooked factors and visualising impacts before and after mitigation. It supports methods like the Five Kinney model and allows prompts for tailored output.
6. Automated Safety Data Sheet Extraction
Reading SDS files can be tedious and error-prone. With Bizzmine, AI scans the file and extracts critical fields (like H-phrases, PPE, hazard classes) into structured outputs, ready for use in simplified instruction sheets.
Data Privacy & Compliance
A hot topic during the Q&A was data protection. Malaika confirmed that:
-
All data remains within Bizzmine’s infrastructure
-
AI results are customer-specific and not used to train public models
-
The platform uses OpenAI technology through a secure Microsoft collaboration
-
AI features are available via a credit-based model in the enterprise plan
While AI buttons can assist in validated environments, users are expected to review and confirm all outputs manually. Co-pilots, however, are not currently suitable for validation support.
Looking ahead: your next step with AI in QHSE
Malaika closed with an invitation: “If you see opportunities to improve your own QHSE processes with AI, don’t hesitate to reach out to your Bizzmine contact. This is just the beginning.”
