About H.Essers

H.Essers operates one of Europe’s largest logistics networks for chemicals and healthcare products. The organisation manages complex international supply chains where quality, safety and regulatory compliance are critical. As operations expanded across Europe, paper-based compliance processes made consistent control across locations difficult. H.Essers implemented Bizzmine as its digital QHSE platform to standardise processes and centralise compliance management. The platform now supports CAPA management, document control and compliance workflows across the organisation. This case study explains how H.Essers uses Bizzmine QHSE software to:

  • replace paper based compliance processes

  • standardise QHSE workflows across international locations

  • manage CAPA and document control in one platform

  • support GxP and ISO compliance across operations

  • create a scalable compliance foundation for international growth

H.Essers is a leading European logistics provider specialising in chemicals and healthcare supply chains. The organisation operates extensive logistics infrastructure including warehouses, trucks and distribution facilities across Europe.

Marie Laure-Brimbois, Quality Director at H.Essers: “Essers was founded in 1928 by Henri Essers and has grown into one of the leading logistics companies in Europe for chemicals and healthcare. Today we operate more than one million square meters of warehouse space, 1400 trucks and over 4000 trailers across 89 locations.”

Maintaining strict compliance standards is essential for these operations. “We hold several important certificates including ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, SQAS for safety and sustainability and ISO 27001 for information security.” according to Marie.

The challenge

As the organisation expanded internationally, managing compliance processes through paper-based systems became increasingly difficult. Marie Laure-Brimbois: “Before Bizzmine most of our systems were paper based. As a rapidly growing company it became clear that this approach was no longer sustainable.”

Operational complexity increased as the company managed different compliance workflows for different sectors. “We also had separate workflows for chemicals and healthcare. Aligning those processes across locations became an important challenge.”

The fragmented structure limited visibility and made it difficult to scale compliance processes consistently. “We needed a solution that would allow us to standardise processes and manage compliance across all locations.” Marie concluded.

The solution

H.Essers implemented Bizzmine as its digital QHSE software platform to centralise compliance management and create structured workflows across the organisation. Jean-Philippe Jacobs, Business Analyst at H.Essers: “Bizzmine is the perfect platform for our organisational setup. It allows us to customise processes digitally and create a solid foundation that we can adapt during the project.”

The platform introduced centralised management for key compliance processes such as CAPA and document control. Marie: “We are currently using the quality management system for CAPA management and document control. We are also expanding with modules for audits, incidents and change management.”

The system allows H.Essers to standardise processes across different operational sectors while maintaining flexibility for specific requirements. “Many adjustments can be implemented directly during the configuration phase. This gives us flexibility and allows for relatively short implementation times.” Jean-Philippe clarified.

The result

The implementation of Bizzmine significantly improved compliance management and operational visibility across the organisation. Frédéric Buntinx, QHSE Manager at H.Essers: “One of the biggest advantages of Bizzmine is its ability to support legal compliance across many standards including GDP, GMP and information security.”

The platform supports the identification and follow up of operational risks and deficiencies. “Bizzmine allows us to record and follow up deficiencies across operations. Automated workflows ensure that responsible employees take actions on time to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.”

Centralising compliance processes also improves coordination across teams and locations. Marie: “What we really appreciate about Bizzmine is that no module stands alone. Everything is connected, which makes it much easier to follow up on projects and compliance activities.”

Key results after implementing Bizzmine

  • Centralised CAPA and document management system

  • Standardised workflows for chemicals and healthcare operations

  • Digital foundation supporting international expansion

The Story of H.Essers

“Our biggest challenge for the future is international expansion. Bizzmine plays a crucial role in that journey because it allows us to standardise processes across all our locations while maintaining strong compliance control.”

Transformation journey

H.Essers approached the implementation of the QHSE platform through several phases to ensure alignment with operational processes. Marie Laure-Brimbois: “The first step was moving away from paper-based systems and translating our compliance processes into a digital environment.”

The platform was configured to support the organisation’s operational structure and compliance requirements. “Because the system is highly configurable, we were able to adapt it during the project and align it with our organisation.” stated by Jean-Philippe Jacobs.

Once the platform was implemented, teams gradually adopted digital workflows for compliance management. Frédéric Buntinx: “Automated workflows and centralised reporting allow us to maintain compliance across operations while ensuring that responsibilities are clearly defined.”

Strategic takeaway

Many logistics organisations still rely on paper documentation and disconnected tools to manage compliance processes. As international operations grow, this approach becomes difficult to sustain.

Marie Laure-Brimbois: “A centralised QHSE platform allows us to standardise processes across locations and maintain compliance while continuing to expand internationally.”

FAQ about H.Esser

QHSE software is a digital platform that helps organisations manage quality, health, safety and environmental processes in one system. It centralises incidents, audits, risks, documents and corrective actions.

Digital QHSE management improves visibility into compliance processes, reduces manual administration and allows organisations to standardise workflows across multiple locations.

CAPA management software ensures that corrective and preventive actions are documented, assigned and followed up systematically. This helps organisations resolve issues quickly and maintain regulatory compliance.

Companies implement a centralised QHSE software platform that defines standard processes for audits, incidents and compliance workflows while allowing local teams controlled flexibility.

QHSE software is widely used in regulated industries such as logistics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, manufacturing and energy where organisations must manage compliance across complex operations.
